School visits to the museum
School visits are essential for learning about the past and present of the Andean peoples. In this sense, the MAAM aims to be a space that allows teachers and students to value, discuss, and reflect, thus fostering a commitment to the heritage the museum safeguards.
The museum offers two types of visits for educational institutions (ONLY IN SPANISH), for which you must request an appointment online in advance using this link.
Children’s activities
The primary goal of the children’s activities proposed by our institution, is to generate a space for participation, learning and fun in which the interest of children in archeology, history, heritage, culture and science is awakened. By stressing the educational training and recreational skills of museums, we try to plan satisfactory actions in order to spawn a dynamic and lasting bond with children, respecting their diversity and interests.
CHAKA, connecting knowledge.
Chaka, in Quechua, means to cross something from side to side. This idea of a bridge is what we hope to generate through this program.
This activity aims to establish a connection with other educational spaces to share a learning experience and mutual enrichment.
By visiting different institutions in the province, the MAAM proposes sharing topics related to Inca culture and heritage.
Educational institutions interested in participating in this cultural educational program should contact us to 387 4370592/93
Teacher’s Guidebook
Among the different goals proposed by the Museum of High Altitude Archeology, one of the most important is dissemination. This is why the museum technicians designed a pedagogical material (in spanish) to guide teachers in their work with the students in the classroom on topics related to the heritage, archaeological history of northwestern Argentina and the Incas.
This material and other proposals are available on the website “Mi Escuela” of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology of the province of Salta, in the section
